NNCL type bearings have three flanges attached as a single piece to the inner ring, but the outer ring is flangeless. A retaining ring is inserted in the center of the outer ring between the two rows of rolling elements, holding all the bearing components together. This bearing can accommodate axial movement of the shaft relative to the housing within the bearing itself, making it suitable for use as a non-positioning bearing."
